Architecture is …
Architecture is the practice of forming and manipulating our build environment through purposeful design, with the goal of enhance the human experience. Almost every square inch of the world that unfolds around had been touched, manipulated, and change by the hand of humankind. Our environment around up, the neighborhoods we live in, and the cities we work in are our own creations, the work of our own hands. But to what end do we continue this endless cycle of change and manipulation?

While dictionary definitions are often lacking in areas, they at times do offers some important insights into reality. Merriam-Webster defines architecture as follows:

The art or science of building; specifically: the art or practice of designing and building structures and especially habitable ones.

I latch on to one key word in this definition: Practice. Architecture is the never mastered, but always an on-going opportunity for improvement and education. So, to try to answer my own question; just because we can not achieve perfection, does not mean we shouldn’t strive for it.
